More Visitors!

Izzie making a reappearance, this time with Dad, Ken! Both photos were entirely too cute. I couldn't chose.

Annual Tomato Canning at the Oliva's

Our neighbors two doors down have an annual tomato canning and sauce making party. The event lasts all day! They were kind enough to invite us to the party, and then to dinner to taste the new sauce! Totally genius. Thanks Al and Charlotte!

Charlotte in action.

Al fishing the jars out of the pressure cooker.
Laurie, in her 3rd apron of the day.

Pete schooling the elementary kids. Way to go sweetie!

The neighborhood kids, with new friends Yenny and Luz!

Ohmigosh, SO DELICIOUS. And I'm not even an eggplant fan!

Visitors!

Until we find something for the alcove at the bottom of the stairs (which I believe is going to be an Anderson original!!!!) all of our visitors get to be "stand ins".

The adorable Kennedy and Campbell from three doors down.

The Restoration - The "Exterior" Photos

As I'm typing this, I'm staring through scaffolding outside my window. I'm just saying.

The first hole in the porch

Lots and lots of rotten wood. For instance, when they propped this up with cross beams, water came pouring out of the top of the column.

For some reason, this photo makes me laugh every time. This is, no joke, about 1/5 of what came out from under the porch. And none of it had anything to do with structural integrity. Just junk that was chucked under there because, you know, why not.

Dude under the porch, hauling said junk.

The original vent work

So THAT'S why they recommended we didn't go out on the top porch.

"Skylight" where the upper porch used to be.

The front of our house is now a maze of orange fencing, "caution do not cross" tape, and scaffolding. Scaffolding with a ladder no less.

This is, I'm happy to say, where they have started to put things "back up", rather than simply "tear down".

Boulderama - the Jennie and Adam Nuptials

Lots of the crew from school had a chance to get together at Jennie Norton and Adam Brucker's wedding in Boulder at the end of August. It was, hands down, an incredible weekend. Congratulations to the happy couple, The Bruckers - who, if I might add, throw a hell of a party - and it was wonderful to see everyone!

Most adorable twin flower girls

Beautiful bride and proud papa.

Gorgeous streamside ceremony presided over by Brother Pastor!

Proud Mom.

Proud Adam!

Some of the gang. Most with sunglasses.

That's our girl!! The bride, sipping on a Fat Tire

The bean bag game. I refuse to call it what we were calling it at the wedding. I refuse. (For those of you not involved that evening, it's apparently called "corn hole". Again, I refuse. Any substitutions are welcome). Fantastic form Jenn!

Ditto Harper, well played.

Pete and I played too. But unlike Harper and Jenn, refused to put our drinks down. Wusses. Plus, we all played in the rain. Yeah, I'm feeling pretty tough.

The "crossed arm crew"

The wedding was held at an incredible outdoor venue called Planet Blue Grass - absolutely fantastic.

Almost candid shot. Would have been, except the photographer (me) announced the photo being taken

The groom, giving a really wonderful speech.

Same with the bride - these two have second-to-none stage presence. Jennie, fantastic speech - and girl, you're SUPPOSED to be emotional!

One of the BF's speeches. Also great.

First dance!

Swimmers and divers! Go 'Gate!

Bride playing drinking games. Oh yeah.

Pete and I visited the infamous Red Rocks. I regaled him with stories of my Phish concert there. Oooooh, the olden days. Anyhow, fantastic amphitheater. Glad to see it again.
