As I'm typing this, I'm staring through scaffolding outside my window. I'm just saying.

The first hole in the porch

Lots and lots of rotten wood. For instance, when they propped this up with cross beams, water came pouring out of the top of the column.

For some reason, this photo makes me laugh every time. This is, no joke, about 1/5 of what came out from under the porch. And none of it had anything to do with structural integrity. Just junk that was chucked under there because, you know, why not.

Dude under the porch, hauling said junk.

The original vent work

So THAT'S why they recommended we didn't go out on the top porch.

"Skylight" where the upper porch used to be.

The front of our house is now a maze of orange fencing, "caution do not cross" tape, and scaffolding. Scaffolding with a ladder no less.

This is, I'm happy to say, where they have started to put things "back up", rather than simply "tear down".

Will everything be ready for the wedding or will you have to come down the scaffolding instead of the stairway?
